“Everyone is different. That’s the beauty of people.”
— Aaron Wolf, Founder of I Am Able Foundation
Together we can make a difference.
The I Am Able Foundation is building a community – and a movement – that brings invisible differences out of the shadows and into the light. Where stigma is replaced with knowledge, and the lonely chair in the school hallway is replaced with a community where neurodivergent people can find support and connection, as well as share their stories with each other and with the broader community. It’s also a community where people without invisible differences can become better allies, classmates, friends, colleagues, and bosses. This is a national community, built alongside committed and driven organizations that want to create an active, engaged network of resources for the neurodiverse community.
Through storytelling, outreach, and empowerment groups, the I Am Able Foundation is squashing the stigmas and fighting against the idea that there is a one-size-fits-all approach to how people can or should think, process, and prioritize. Sharing stories across numerous media channels – including social media posts, videos, and film – we are creating a community that advocates for change, that stands up for and with people that have been taught to feel shame or fear about their invisible differences.
The I Am Able Foundation imagines a world where …
Our invisible differences no longer define or limit our ability to find happiness and success at work and in life.
People with invisible differences can connect and engage with one another for support and encouragement– sharing their struggles, their successes, and their stories with one another.
Everyone can develop the skills and competencies needed to better lead, support, and collaborate with employees and community members with invisible differences.
Education about neurodiversity begins at the elementary school level and moves on through college and into the workplace as adults.
Stigmas are squashed – and judgment about neurodiversity is replaced by knowledge and acceptance.
